How you helped us light up homes in Kikkeri, Karnataka

Thank you for your support towards Alia Bhatt’s closet sharing initiative, ‘Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe’ launched at the Stylecracker Night Market in May this year. All proceeds from your weekend of shopping went towards lighting up not just homes, but the lives of many! Here’s how it unfolded:

The initiative was a chance for people to pick an outfit or two from Alia’s personal wardrobe while supporting a good cause at the same time.

And the response was phenomenal! We were all sold out within the first hour!

Your purchase went towards supporting AROHA’s Liter Of Light program which recycles plastic bottles to provide solar lighting to people with limited or no access to electricity.

On Sunday, 8th July, thanks to your support and the support from Standard Electricals, the Liter Of Light team installed eco-friendly solar lamps in 40 homes along with 5 community lights in Kikkeri, Karnataka, brightening 250 lives.

Here’s what Alia had to say about the project:

“So many families in India continue to live in darkness and Liter of Light’s eco-friendly solar lamps are an innovative and sustainable way to light up homes. They work with local communities, using locally sourced materials to assemble and install the lamps, thus empowering the community and improving the quality of life. The project in Kikkeri will benefit 250 lives and through Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe we plan to work with many such organisations, creating a brighter future for many more.”

Alia’s Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe initiative will continue to contribute to various charitable causes. With your support, we can continue to change the lives of man and animal and also help protect our environment.
